I've wanted to be strong for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I'd try to pick up anything heavy I could find. When Terminator 2 came out, I spent months genuinely questioning whether I might actually be a T-800 — poking my own cheeks to check if what was underneath felt like bone or metal. That's not a metaphor. That's just how much the idea of being strong took hold early.
Five years of serious training later, at around 270 pounds, that same drive is still the whole reason this site exists.
Why this exists
Most fitness content isn't built for patience. It's built for people who want to look a certain way or hit a certain number on a certain timeline — and if that doesn't happen fast enough, the content itself trains you to read it as failure. That's not how real strength actually works.
Progress isn't just a function of how often you train, eat, or sleep. It's technique. It's discovering your own leverages — the specific angles and setups that work for your actual body, not a generic template. And it takes time. If you're willing to give it four, five, six years or more, with real dedication and honest critical thinking about what's actually working, you get there. Most content doesn't want to tell people that, because "it takes years" doesn't sell as well as "do this in 12 weeks."
This site is built on the assumption that you're one of the people willing to play the long game.
Why the advice here is self-taught, not borrowed
I deliberately don't watch much training content. Not because there's nothing useful out there, but because the mind is powerful — spend enough time absorbing someone else's ideals and ideas, and it gets harder to tell what's actually true for your own body versus what you've just been told is true. Most of what's on this site came from trial and error, figuring out what actually applies to me specifically, not from repeating what a program or a video said should work.
That's also why the Log exists as its own section — real numbers, real sessions, including the ones that didn't go perfectly. Not polished advice handed down from above, just what actually happened and what it taught.
Who this is for
If you're built at a bigger scale — carrying more bodyweight than most programming assumes — and you're willing to trade the promise of fast results for something that actually holds up over years, this is written for you.
